Voronezh Region is a subject of the Russian Federation, an area in the center of the European part of Russia. The regional center is the city of Voronezh. The distance to Moscow is about 515 km.
It was formed on June 13, 1934. The date of adoption of the Resolution of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of the RSFSR of June 13, 1934 on the formation of the Voronezh Region is a memorable day — the Day of the Region.
It is part of the Central Federal District. The administrative center of the region is the city of Voronezh.
It borders: in the south — with Ukraine (Lugansk region) and Rostov region, in the west — with Belgorod region, in the northwest — with Kursk, in the north — with Lipetsk, in the northeast — with Tambov, in the southeast — with Volgograd region, in the east — with the Saratov region.
