Primorsky Krai (Primorye) is a constituent entity of the Russian Federation.
The Primorsky Territory was formed on October 20, 1938 by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR “On the division of the Far Eastern Territory into Khabarovsk and Primorsky Krai” (the Primorsky Territory included the Primorsky and Ussuri regions of the Far Eastern Territory, abolished in 1939 and 1943, respectively).
The administrative center is the city of Vladivostok.
The area is 164 673 km ².
Population – 1 923 116 people. (2017).
Density of population – 11.68 people / km² (2017)
The share of the urban population is 77.13 % (2017).
It borders on the west with China, in the south-west – with the DPRK, in the north – with the Khabarovsk Territory.
